Webpage for Emirati travelers launched by MOFAIC dedicated to travel guidelines during Covid-19 pandemic

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) have issued that all travelers are required to follow travel advisories and guidelines put in place for Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry has stressed that for this all citizen and resident travelers must be aware of all required information on preventive measures which are in effect at their respective travel destinations.

Keeping this intended purpose in mind, MOFAIC has launched a dedicate webpage for all Emirati travelers on its official website www.mofaic.gov.ae. The page includes all the entry requisites of other countries and related updates, along with different people categories that are allowed to travel and the related measures and tests required before traveling.

Abdulaziz Talib Al Habsi, Director of the Citizens Affairs Department at the Ministry said that the webpage is result of efforts by the country to ensure safety of all Emirati international travelers, keeping their health and safety as a priority. He further added that all Emirati citizens have to take required steps before traveling. It starts from visiting the respective websites to verify if their intended country is receiving visitors, then booking tickets, and lastly meeting all the set requirements by destination country.

Al Habsi further advised that all citizens must accentuate positive image of UAE by following all laws and guidelines of the destination country which are put in place to tackle the coronavirus pandemic and avoiding spread of infection. He also stressed the travelers to follow the quarantine periods on reaching.

Ministry has urged the Emirati citizen travelers and their family members to register themselves in the “Tawajudi” service on MOFAIC’s website or through smart application (UAEMOFAIC) to get assistance in case of emergency.

Al Habsi specially noted that in case any Emirati citizen contracts coronavirus infection abroad, they must contact nearest UAE diplomatic mission immediately or ministry’s call centre on 009718004444. The diplomatic mission would then coordinate with local authorities to help them with best hospital treatment and quarantine facility. He added that all the treatment and quarantine expenses would be taken care of by the diplomatic mission.

Ministry said that Emirati citizens must undergo a PCR test on returning and show negative test result within 96 hours prior to departure. They must also follow all the guidelines upon arrival as set by the authorities to tackle the pandemic in UAE.
