Volunteers can now register online for phase III COVID-19 vaccine trials

4humanity.ae opens volunteer registrations for world’s first phase III clinical trials of COVID-19 inactivated vaccine in UAE

World’s first global clinical phase III trials of COVID-19 inactivated vaccine enlisted by World Health Organisation(WHO) is to be done in coming days for which interested volunteers can register themselves on 4humanity.ae. The trials will be conducted in Abu Dhabi.

For this very purpose, a special hotline has also been created---02 819 1111---to connect the volunteers with the officials. These people will be required to submit their details and contact information to the officials. Age group of 18-60 is the required target audience from the organisers front. Once done with the medical check-up and approved, the person can qualify as a volunteer.

The Chairman of the Department of Health, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, was the first to be administered the phase III inactivated vaccine for coronavirus.

The United Arab Emirates became one of the first few nations to go ahead with human trials and reach phase III of testing the vaccine. This achievement is the result of collaboration between Abu Dhabi based G42 healthcare, currently at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19 in the UAE, and Sinopharm CNBG, the world’s sixth largest vaccine manufacturer

There has been careful consideration given to these trials and they are being administered by top health officials. As per reports, they are being operated by health practitioners from Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). Apart from the facility of mobile clinical trials for better accessibility of the volunteers, they have their set-ups in five different sites in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

The emirates seemed an ideal choice to conduct the trials for phase III because of the mass diversity that the nation exhibits along every demographic. Also, when it comes to the UAE, the feasibility for the global application on the success of the trails is much easier than any other country.
