Under Safe Travel Corridor, UAE has now allowed entry of Indonesia travelers

Under the Safe Travel Corridor Arrangement (STCA) between UAE and Indonesia, travelers from Indonesia are now allowed to gain entry in the UAE. STCA is an official agreement chartered between Indonesia and the UAE to ease out travel between the two nations for essential purposes like business, commercial, economic, diplomatic, and official.

On Thursday, the Indonesian Consulate in Dubai confirmed to Gulf News that travel between the two nations under the STCA program is now resumed after an earlier temporary suspension.

Dubai airline flydubai has also revised its travel advisory about travelers from Indonesia. The airline’s website had earlier stated that the UAE wasn’t permitting entry to Indonesian nationals traveling under the Safe Travel Corridor program. The latest travel update under Covid-19 that was done on Wednesday, has removed this advisory from the website.

A flydubai spokesperson said, “We encourage our passengers to keep up to date with the last regulations from official sources such as the IATA Travel Centre so that they are prepared for their whole journey.”

Candra Negara, the Indonesian Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates clarified that STCA’s temporary suspension was lifted in February. “Indonesians have been traveling to Dubai with ease since the country’s border reopening in July 2020 for international visitors up until today,” he said on Thursday in a statement to Gulf News. UAE’s Emirates and Etihad had operated limited commercial flights to and from Indonesia as Indonesia’s borders are still closed for foreigners, except for under STCA travelers.

The STCA has eased traveling for business travelers and diplomatic or service passport holders from both nations despite border closure. “This is a concerted effort made by our two governments in managing the social and economic impact of the pandemic.”
