Umm Al Quwain authorities have announced work from home protocols for 70 percent of the government employees in the emirate. The announcement was made by the Emirate’s Executive Council on Monday in line with the efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the Council's circular, the new protocols is applicable to those employees whose nature of work does not require them to be physically present in the office.
Meanwhile, rest 30 percent of the government employees will continue to work from their offices as their duties require them to be present at the workplace to fulfill their professional responsibilities.
The authorities have also pointed out that the work-from-home system is effective till the end of January as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The circular also stressed the importance of all employees affirming their compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols at the workplace and in public such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing to limit the spread of the virus.
