UK to accept UAE-issued COVID-19 vaccine certificates from Oct 4

Uk To Accept Uae Issued Covid 19 Vaccine Certificates From Oct 4

Britain's transport secretary Grant Shapps has confirmed that United Kingdom will be accepting vaccination certificates issued by the UAE with effect from October 4. This development will help in facilitating more travel freedom between the UK and the Gulf region.

The decision has been taken by the UK government after the updates made by the UAE authorities in its Al Hosn app.

“As a major transport hub which is home to many British expats, this is great news for reopening international travel, boosting business and reuniting families," Shapps said on Twitter.

According to a statement on the British government website, UAE travellers will be eligible to enter the UK without the need to undergo quarantine from October 4. The new measures will also help in boost recovery of the tourism sector and flights between UAE and the UK.

Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, welcomed the UK’s decision to recognise vaccination certificates issued by UAE authorities.

“This will make it easier for Emiratis and our large British expat community living in the UAE to travel to the UK, for families and friends to reunite, and for businesses to enhance operations. We are looking forward to continuing to work with our friends in the UK in the global recovery from COVID-19. Today's announcement is an important step," he posted on Twitter.
