UAE Strengthens Sanitation Drive To Combat Covid-19 Spread

Uae Reports 63 New Covid 19 Cases


The UAE has now crossed the 400 mark of the number of infected cases that have contracted the Covid-19 disease through the Corona Virus. It has further reported 63 more cases of residents belonging to various nationalities. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health and Prevention wherein Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE health sector has highlighted the latest COVID-19 developments in the country.

While communicating the details, he said that the National Disinfection Programme is now extended until April 4 whereby a robust sterilisation drive will be carried out daily from 8pm in the night until 6am the following morning. Further, social distancing will be practiced and restrictions will continue to be placed on public and private facilities, streets, public transportation, metro trains and trams.

Under the close supervision of various relevant authorities, several regions and utilities have already been sterilized using state-of-the-art technology nationwide. This has been done over several stages. While the sterilization drive is being put into practice, restriction in day travel will ensure the drive  

Dr. Khalid Al Mazrouei, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has also shared how the UAE has taken several precautionary and preventive measures inside and outside the country through respective embassies and representative missions overseas. “We have been able to do this by urging UAE citizens staying outside the country to follow the safety guidelines issued by their host countries and register in Tawajudi service while keeping regular channels of communication with UAE embassies in their host countries and call the Ministry’s contact centre in case of necessity.”

 As per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, a number of individuals from sisterly and friendly countries of the UAE were evacuated from China and other parts of the world. Others had been requested to follow up on their conditions. Many students stuck outside the country were also brought back safely to the Emirates Humanitarian City," Al Mazrouei said.
