The UAE recently sent a third aid plane containing COVID-19 vaccine doses to Damascus to help healthcare workers fight the pandemic in Syria. The aid shipment, sent by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), reached Damascus on April 27.
ERC arranged the medical aid shipment in coordination with the Syrian Red Crescent Organisation, as part of the UAE's global humanitarian response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UAE aims to strengthen preventive measures and combat the spread of the virus across countries in need.
The medical aid will assist the Syrian healthcare sector in protecting frontline workers, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and those displaced and living in refugee camps.
Under its wise leadership, the UAE is ensuring all possible efforts to tackle the impact of the pandemic internationally. The UAE seeks to reinforce the initiatives undertaken by the state to support global efforts to combat the spread of Coronavirus in countries across the world. The initiatives have been implemented to ensure compliance with precautionary and preventive measures aimed at confronting the Coronavirus pandemic and mitigating its negative impact.
