UAE’s efforts around missions amid Coronavirus pandemic lauded

On the occasion of International Diplomats Day, efforts of diplomats in the UAE to extend help and support to their citizens amid the pandemic crisis was hailed.

Consulate-General of India in Dubai tweeted on Saturday, “The presence of a number of senior diplomats and officials from the UAE exhibited the solidarity towards common goals for making the world a better place to live.”

Ahmed Al Banna, UAE’s Ambassador to India, said that the two friendly nations have reached a new stage of ‘strategic relationships’. During an event organized by Indian Consukate, he said, “India is the first country where we (UAE) signed a strategic agreement with.” The event also marked the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

Consulate-General of India in Dubai, Dr. Aman Puri expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for supporting all residents, including the large Indian diaspora, during the unprecedented time of Covid-19 crisis. He said, “Here in Dubai, we celebrate the special occasions with our friends from the diplomatic community from around the world.”

The diplomatic mission heads also discussed various steps to mitigate pandemic crisis taken by the mission.

Brahmavihari Swami, the lead BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha priest overseeing the development of the new Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, and Sunil Sinha, resident director, MENA region of Tata Sons, who were present at the meeting said that compassion and philanthropy are important attributes for working forward.

International Diplomats Day is observed each year since 2017 on October 24 to celebrate the efforts of diplomats. The idea to celebrate the day on United Nations Day was proposed by Abhay Kumar, Ambassador of India to Madagascar and Comoros.
