The UAE authorities have underlined the importance of taking the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot to enhance the fight against new variants and contain the pandemic.

During a weekly media briefing, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) affirmed that the UAE health authorities are ensuring all measures to broaden the scope of PCR testing across the country.

PCR tests have proven efficient in detecting COVID-19 infections, including the Omicron variant.

Addressing a briefing, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Official Spokesperson of the UAE’s health sector, urged the community members to cooperate and comply with the precautionary measures, including wearing masks, avoiding going to crowded places and gatherings and regularly sanitising.

The authorities further advised citizens and residents wishing to travel to be aware of the requirements and procedures of their destination countries before planning their trip. It will help them in avoiding penalties for violations in their destination countries.
