The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has been carrying out its efforts to provide relief services to the families living in the remote villages of Hadhramaut, Yemen. Recently, the ERC dispatched mobile medical clinics in the remote villages under the framework of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to ease the suffering of the Yemeni population living in far off areas of the country without proper access to adequate healthcare centres or hospitals.
In addition, the medical team of the ERC conducted several field visit to the remote villages of Hadhramaut to support the people in crisis. As per a WAM report, around 150 people visited the health centre in Zaghfa, Ash Shihr District and received benefits from its free medical and diagnostic services. They were also provided free medicines for various injuries, burns and communicable diseases such as cough, fever and influenza.
Between the months of July 2020 and September 2020, around 2,681 patients from various remote villages of Hadhramaut Governorate have visited the mobile clinic where they received medical services, treatment and healthcare advice through educational brochures.
Under the supervision of doctors Alaa Nafea and Alaa Al Tamami, the ERC's mobile clinic project is aimed at identifying, diagnosing and treating medical cases in the region. This project will also help in detecting cases of malnutrition and various other diseases among people following which they will be treated free of charge.
Beneficiaries of the project have hailed the efforts of the ERC to deliver necessary medical services in the remote parts of Yemen.
