As UAE continues to show its solidarity towards its own and the world, in the times of Covid-19 crisis and recovery, it has received great appreciation for its efforts to help the people of Italy.
It is confirmed that the UAE’s Ambassador to Italy Omar Obaid Al-Shamsi made a substantial donation to the Assisi City Council to support the local needy families whose conditions had worsened due to Covid-19.
The UAE has also donated winter clothes and a substantial amount of money for people that were hard hit by pandemic in the city of Assisi. The donation was also made in an official ceremony at the local city hall, where the mayor met the UAE’s deputy ambassador to Italy.
Gifts brought it by Deputy Ambassador Ahmad Al-Mulla were well received by Assisi Mayor Stefania Proietti, local councilor for social services Massimo Paggi, and President of the Assisi Caritas Foundation Fr. Cesare Provenzi.
All the work was carried out actively by the UAE embassy in Italy. What brought great sense of comradeship and appreciation was the fact that the UAE carried out substantial winter wear donation, making the Day of Tolerance in November 2019, that’s marks the spirit of fostering mutual understanding amongst cultures and people across the world. The UAE continues to remain committed in its desire to bring a sense of unity amongst cultures through its continuous endeavours of support and donations across the world.
