UAE launches second phase of food relief efforts in remote villages in Yemen's Red Sea Coast

With the efforts of the relief teams of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the UAE has initiated the second phase of relief aid at Uzlat Al Mujailis, Al Tuhayta district in the Al Hudaydah Governorate of Yemen. In a bid to mitigate the ongoing hunger crisis in the war-stricken country, the ERC distributed 200 food baskets out of the total of 6,000 baskets allocated in the second phase.

In this phase, the relief teams covered those areas that were not included in the previous phase for distribution of essential food supplies. ERC's relief teams distributed food packets to the residents in the villages of Al Tuhayta, Heis, Bayt al-Faqih among others. In the first phase, 6,000 food baskets were distributed among the underprivileged in Khokha, Ad Durayhimi, Al-Hawk and Al-Hali districts.

This initiative comes under the broader humanitarian campaign of the ERC to provide relief to Yemeni population living in rural and remote areas of the country. At the same time, this initiative is a part of the UAE's continuous efforts to provide much-needed relief and shelter assistance to underprivileged families across various districts in the war-torn country.

The beneficiaries of the relief assistance have praised and appreciated the efforts taken by the UAE through its humanitarian institution ERC for assisting and supporting the affected people and alleviate their suffering amid the critical circumstances. Yemeni authorities also hailed the UAE for always lending a supportive hand to them in times of crisis.

During the distribution process, officials of the relief team at the ERC Office in the Yemeni Red Sea Coast said that the second phase of the aid will provide benefits to the residents of the remote villages and others while restoring their hope and trust and alleviate their problems. They further noted that the ERC will continue to carry out its humanitarian efforts for the greater good of the people in need.
