The UAE Government recently organised a series of virtual knowledge workshops and specialised sessions with the objective of enhancing the capacities and capabilities of government working teams in Costa Rica in the post-pandemic period.
The workshops are aimed at helping Costa Rica to develop and diversify its key sectors and gain benefits from the successful government modernisation experience of the UAE. These workshops have been organised under the framework of a strategic partnership agreement signed between the UAE and Costa Rica on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2019 with the objective of modernising and developing the government and administrative efforts.
Experts from the UAE government and Costa Rican government officials presented and moderated the workshops which were held remotely. During the workshops, all the attendees from both the countries shared their views and suggestions on various topics such as addressing the future prospects of the post-COVID-19 economy, establishing the premises for competitive tourism, foreign direct investment, and the ways of employing the UAE’s successful experiences in countering the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Yasser Al Naqbi, Assistant Director-General of Government Leadership and Capacity at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, affirmed that the UAE has emerged as on the most successful countries in combating COVID-19 in the world with the help of its unique international model that is based on collective experiences which led to developing the best practices to tackle the challenges and focus on future planning.
Dr Al Naqbi further stated that these workshops and specialised sessions are part of the broader efforts of the UAE to share its leading experiences in fighting the crisis with other governments. The UAE's experiences were presented to the workshop by Emirati experts and specialists in the presence of Costa Rican officials. Proactive interactions took place during the workshop which also resulted in drafting rapid recovery plans for the post-pandemic period.
