UAE forms National COVID Crisis Management and Governance Committee

In order to curb the spread of coronavirus infection, United Arab Emirates formed a committee for announced the formation of the National COVID-19 Crisis Recovery Management and Governance, on Saturday.

The aim of the committee was to help the country’s business community recover from the pandemic hit. Besides, the authorities added that it would work towards establishing proactive support programs to help restart the enterprises with strategic measures and operational performance to take them closer towards normalcy.

WAM reported the committee, headed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, included members from different ministries and federal departments, including the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Ministry of Interior; Ministry of Defence; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Ministry of Health and Prevention; Ministry of Economy; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Ministry of Community Development; Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure; Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; Ministry of Food and Water Security; Prime Minister’s Office; General Secretariat of the Cabinet; General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for National Security; Abu Dhabi Executive Office; National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA); Media Office of the UAE Government; Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and Dubai Executive Council; in addition to representatives of the Emirates Development Bank and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

UAE has set a mark in the Arab world and at global stage with its handling of the pandemic and making way for reopening the economy with the much needed support system and precautions. According to the Horizon Research Group, UAE ranks 37th globally in the COVID Economic Recovery Index Ranking due to its continuous efforts towards managing the health crisis with state-of-the-art technologies, advanced infrastructure and institutional efficiency.
