Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has reiterated the UAE's full support and solidarity with India amid the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the friendly nation. Sheikh Abdullah expressed confidence in the ability of the government of India to overcome the challenging circumstances triggered by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These remarks came during a phone call between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed with Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Sunday. During the telephonic conversation, Sheikh Abdullah expressed full solidarity of the leadership, government and people of the UAE with the government and people of India amid the difficult circumstances. He extended UAE's support to the efforts of the Indian government to contain the repercussions of the health crisis.
Sheikh Abdullah underlined UAE's keenness to provide all necessary resources to support the ongoing efforts of the Indian government to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
In his phone call with Dr. S Jaishankar, His Highness expressed sincere condolences over the victims of the pandemic and extended well wishes for health and welfare for the people of India.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the long-standing relations and comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and India. He further renewed the UAE's solidarity and confidence in the government of India to defeat the pandemic and safeguard its people.
In this regard, Sheikh Abdullah stated that global synergy and concerted action are crucial to handling the repercussions of the pandemic.
Taking to Twitter, Dr S Jaishankar thanked the UAE for expressing solidarity with India.
