In a proud moment, Fujairah has gone ahead and launched free Covid-19 testing centers for the general public. This has been done under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, under a national campaign to protect the health and interest of their inhabitants.
This was communicated to the media through a formal statement made by
Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director-General of the Emiri Court at the Fujairah Government.
While making the statement at the formal launch of a coronavirus testing centre at the local council in Al Halah, he also indicated that this initiative is a part of the related plan of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, and in coordination with a local team from National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, NCEMA.
It has been further communicated that these centers would be conducting free of cost tests for the general public. Al Dhanhani was present at the preparations and opening of the centers where he briefed its medical and technical staff about the required procedures, to provide citizens and residents with the highest standards of healthcare.
Of the 16.5 million people infected by the Covid-19 virus, UAE has a very small number to show. Of almost 50,000 cases, most have already recovered, showing some excellent ground work, active testing and medical aid provided to its citizens.
Additionally, this is a part of the free Covid-19 testing campaign that was kicked in last week by the UAE across the emirates. The campaign will adhere to a specific timetable that will cover every neighbourhood of the emirate. Residents must take their Emirates ID to the testing centres.
It is due to robust mass testing exercise that the virus has seen a flattening curve. This is being seen as one of the world's most comprehensive testing exercise undertaking and tracing regimes early on. With accelerated mass testing, till date, the country has managed to carry out over 4.5 million Covid-19 tests.
