Two private companies in UAE sign agreement with two companies in Israel to develop research and technology to combat COVID-19

Novel Coronavirus has taken over the globe and countries across the world are joining hands to fight the pandemic in a bid to safeguard the citizens. Addressing the need for strengthening international cooperation while battling the global health crises, two UAE-based private companies have signed an agreement with two companies in Israel to facilitate the development of research and technology to combat the COVID-19 virus. This initiative will facilitate coordinated efforts in the fields of research, development, and technology to serve humanity during the crisis.

Furthermore, the agreement for scientific and medical research and development is a key step towards constructive cooperation aiming to safeguard the health of people in the two countries while addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the whole world is grappling with the pandemic that has impacted over 9.61 million lives across different regions. In view of the unprecedented impact of the virus on the lives of the citizens, it has become essential to put the protection of humanity at the forefront of global action to overcome the crises.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced that country will be joining forces with the UAE administration in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in a bid to improve health security throughout the region. In a formal statement on Thursday, Netanyahu said that the collaboration will be in the areas of research and development and technology to enhance health security amid the pandemic.

As of now, Israel has reported more than 22,000 Coronavirus positive cases, out of whom over 16,000 people have recovered. One the other, the UAE has reported over 46,500 virus-infected cases, out of which more than 35,000 patients have fully recovered from the disease. Globally, more than 4.81 million people have recovered from the virus out of over 9.61 million people infected (according to worldometers.info). The worldwide COVID-19 death toll has crossed 4,89,000, with the United States reporting the highest number of deaths from the disease.
