In a major development in the fight against the pandemic crisis, the UAE health sector has administered more than 4.008 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines across the country. In this regard, the UAE achieved a significant distribution rate of 40.53 doses per every 100 people.
As per a recent announcement made by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the UAE was able to administer more than four million Coronavirus vaccine doses due to the efforts made by the health sector across all regions. Minister of Health and Prevention Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais stated that this achievement has come in line with the UAE leadership's keenness to immunize all members of the society against the COVID-19 virus.
He further attributed this achievement to the rigorous efforts and determination of UAE's medical teams in line with the continuous support and directives of the country’s leadership.
The minister affirmed that the rapid and effective rollout of COVID-19 vaccines across the country is a testimony to the success of the National Vaccination Programme launched by the UAE leadership. The nationwide vaccination programme was rolled out to ensure that COVID-19 vaccines are available at all government and private hospitals and health centres with the aim of inoculating the maximum number of members of the community, including Emiratis and residents. The programme particularly focuses on the elderly, frontline heroes and people with chronic diseases. Al Owais stated that the ultimate goal of the vaccination programme is to ensure that all members of the community acquire immunity against COVID-19 and contribute to the efforts of combating the pandemic crisis.
The Minister also highlighted that the increasing demand for COVID-19 vaccines among the community members indicates a positive response of the UAE society towards the inoculation drive. He noted that it reflects the trust of the community in the efforts and capabilities of the administration to protect public health and safety.
Al Owais also underlined the need for the community members to continue their compliance with COVID-19 countermeasures to safeguard the society against any new Coronavirus strains emerging across various parts of the world.
