Abu Dhabi-based Cleveland Clinic has been named the top hospital in the UAE in World’s Best Hospitals Index 2022. Compiled by Newsweek and Statista Inc, the ranging evaluates the operations of more than 2,200 hospitals from 27 countries across the world.

Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi was positioned within the top 150 global hospitals in the ranking.

Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and deputy group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, congratulated the entire team of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi on this achievement. Al Muhairi further hailed the commitment and collective efforts displayed by the clinic's medical team which positioned them in the list of best hospitals globally.

Tom Mihaljevic, MD, Cleveland Clinic CEO and President, underlined that ranking among the world’s best hospitals is affirmation of the medical team's continued commitment to provide patients with the best care anywhere.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi CEO, Jorge Guzman, M.D., expressed delight to be positioned in top ranking in the prestigious list. He stated that the recognition is a testament to the hospital's continuous focus and commitment to ensure the provision of world-class care to people in need and strengthen the UAE health sector.

"The rankings are compiled by collating feedback from medical healthcare professionals and patients, relating to two key objectives of ours: to be the best employer in the healthcare sector and the most trusted provider of patient care in the UAE and the wider region," he said.

The data for the ranking has been from three sources:

· Online surveys of more than 80,000 medical experts from around the world

· Results from publicly available patient experience surveys

· Medical key performance indicators, including patient safety, infection prevention measures, and doctor-to-patient ratios.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and other top hospitals across the UAE received recognition for their ability to deliver high-quality patient care and carry out crucial medical research even when the COVID-19 pandemic was disrupting the global health sector.

Last year, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi was awarded a ‘5 Diamonds Rating’ from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) in its healthcare quality index ‘Muashir’. It works in accordance with global best practices to evaluate the quality of healthcare providers in the UAE.
