The UAE health authorities on Sunday announced that more than 99 percent of the eligible population in the country has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. It is seen as a significant achievement in the ongoing national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority highlighted that 89.26 percent of the Emirati population is fully vaccinated after receiving both doses of the vaccine. In the past 24 hours, the UAE health sector has administered an additional 16,255 doses to eligible community members across the country.

Since the start of the national vaccination campaign in the UAE, the health sector has administered more than 22.55 million doses of approved COVID-19 vaccines.

Furthermore, daily cases of infection have remained less than 100 since October 21 in line with the successful efforts of the health sector to curb the spread of the disease.

NCEMA also stated that no deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in the 24-hour reporting period. A total number of recoveries from COVID-19 has increased to 735,549 after additional 92 people overcame the illness.

With more than 97 million COVID-19 tests conducted since the outbreak began, the UAE health sector continues to ensure stringent measures to curtail the pandemic crisis and mitigate its impact. Community members have been urged to continue compliance with precautionary measures to enhance the safety and wellbeing of the public.
