This is how Dubai will be celebrating New Years during the pandemic

The United Arab Emirates has planned the holiday events in such a way that even when people enjoy and celebrate with various activities into place, they keep Covid-19 pandemic in their minds and follow the necessary restrictions.

Dubai has announced measures it will be taking in the wake of the ongoing pandemic for the New Year celebrations. After a meeting on Saturday, the Dubai Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management approved all the precautionary measures for the New Year’s eve. The meeting was headed by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

These rules include limitations on gatherings where be it private or family gathering, it must be limited to 30 people who follow proper social distancing measures in that place. To ensure that the social distancing practices are being obeyed, space where the gathering is being held must be calculated so that each person gets a restricted space of 4 square meter.

Those who break these rules will be fined heavily says the new directives. The fine for the host will be Dh50,000 while for every attendee will be Dh15,000. This is to make sure that the host is also taking care of these measures.

Dubai Media Office also released a statement advising the elderly people to not attend these gatherings especially those with chronic health conditions. The same advice is also applicable for people who are experiencing symptoms such as coughing or fever.

Authorities have also made it clear that wearing masks is necessary at all times while attending these events.

The Dubai Media office also revealed through a tweet that officials will be conducting inspections and penalising the violators. The committee who had approved the restrictions on Saturday asked the families and members of the community to strictly abide by the guidelines.

These measures have been brought into light for people to have a safe and enjoyable New Years celebrations.
