The Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah organizes on November 24 the 8th edition of the "My Health 2020" conference, which is held under the patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah .. More than 23 speakers from the most prominent Arab and foreign doctors inside and outside the country will participate in the conference as well as the elite of health sector leaders at the local, regional and global level.
held under the slogan "An Enhanced Environment for the Health of Children and Adolescents during the Covid-19 Pandemic," the conference with its three-day agenda will be full of keynote speeches ,scientific discussion and dialogue sessions presented by the most prominent health sector leaders,names like His Excellency Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al-Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the health centers and clinics in the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, Dr. Dalia Al-Samhouri, Director of the Emergency Program and International Health Regulations at the World Health Organization for the Middle East Region, Dr. Muhatta Al-Hashemi, Chairman of the Sharjah Authority for Special Education, Dr. Khaled Saeed, Regional Adviser for Mental Health and Addiction, and Dr. Hisham Hammouda, Assistant Professor at Harvard University And Dr. Ibtihal Fadel, President of the Global Alliance for Noncommunicable Diseases for theMiddle East Region.
The conference will shed light on the most important global experiences adopted in achieving a safe return to schools in light of the "Covid-19" pandemic, ways to enhance the physical and nutritional health for children and adolescents, the mental health challenges during the pandemic, the psychological impact of physical distancing and E-learning, the preparation for emergencies and crises, and how to negative phenomena in schools environment, how to deal with children and adolescents who suffer from immune and chronic diseases, and ways to reduce infectious diseases within the school community, with the aim of providing a healthy school environment that promotes healthy behavior for children and adolescents. The conference also includes specialized workshops for media professionals provided by the "Internews Network" on the role of the media in enhancing the international efforts in facing the repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis.
Director of Health Education Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah ,Iman Rashid Saif, stressed on the importance of the Health Conference, as it is a scientific and global forum devoted to discussing medical topics and research in line with the most prominent global trends in the health sector and foreseeing innovative solutions to health challenges, it brings together an elite group of doctors under one roof. And specialists in various medical fields, in addition to the participation of the most important health organizations from the region and the world, which represents a real openness to the world's successful health experiences, as well as exchange of experiences, transfer of knowledge, and stand on the developments of the world and its medical research.
Iman Rashid Saif said that the conference comes within the administration’s endeavors to support the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to be the first health city in the region and the world, based on the directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah by working to develop and expand our programs, events and campaigns to protect the members of society and ensure their enjoyment of psychological and physical health in order to achieve happiness for them and for future generations.
The 8th edition of My Health Conference aims this year to enhance the schools capacity in preparing and responding to emergencies and limiting the spread of diseases and epidemics, in light of the experiences learned from the Covid pandemic in addition to discussing a number of health issues that fall within the objectives of the national agenda for the UAE Vision 2021 and The UAE Centennial 2071, which aims to ensure a better life based on the well-being of future generations.
