In a major boost to the UAE's ongoing efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) approved the emergency use of the Sinopharm vaccine for young people aged 3 to 17 years. 

The decision was taken by the ministry on the basis of the results of successful clinical studies conducted by relevant authorities and local evaluation carried out in accordance with the approved regulations and the best international standards. Furthermore, the UAE authorities conducted a strict assessment of the vaccine before approving its emergency use for children aged 3-17 years

The approval of Sinopharm vaccine for the 3-17 age group will enhance the UAE's national vaccination campaign aimed at combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. It has come as a reflection of the UAE's continuous and proactive efforts to ensure compliance with precautionary measures and promote the health and safety of all community members.
