The Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has opened the largest drive-through COVID-19 testing centre in the Emirate with the aim of boosting the health sector's efforts to combat the pandemic crisis.

The centre is located in the 5th Industrial Area for the ease and convenience of all community members seeking testing services in the region. The new centre has been opened as part of the civic body’s efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the Emirate.

Furthermore, the new testing centre will provide required testing services to customers at only Dh50 with the results generated within six hours.

The centre has the capacity to accommodate 16 vehicles at a time and is operational for public use between 7.30 am till 11 pm on all days of the week.

Taking to Instagram, the civic body noted that the additional COVID-19 testing centre has been opened in Sharjah to relieve pressure on other centres.

"The municipality will provide the required number of employees at the new centre to organise vehicle entry and exit and complete the testing in a short time,” the authority added.
