Emirates Airlines has announced introduction of self-check-in and bag drop kiosks aiming to provide travelers with a seamless experience at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. Emirates service is now available to all destinations except in US, Canada, India, China and Hong Kong due to additional requisites needed for these locations.
A total of 16 self-service bag drop machines and 8 self-service kiosks have been introduced to complement the desks manned by Emirates check-in agents. This is aimed at reducing the waiting time for customers, especially during peak periods and also improve overall customer experience in Dubai. More self-services facilities are in planning stage which would be added in the coming months.
The kiosks can be used by customers to check-in, receive boarding pass, choose seats on board, and also drop off the baggage. Though the kiosks are completely self-service, Emirates staff will be available for any assistance required. This will allow customers to proceed directly to immigration in no time. The facilities are disinfected regularly and hand sanitizers are available for customers use.
The new system is part of Emirates’ continued commitment to provide an unmatched experience for all its customers on ground as well as on board. The new development was developed by Emirates in collaboration with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Dubai Airports. The kiosks will be upgraded on a constant basis to include new features in the future like touchless mode, and also allow customers to make re-bookings on their own.
