The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA has announced that the price of nasal swab test which is used for detecting Covid-19 cases will be slashed down from 370 Dh to 250 Dh. The new price of test would be available in all centres of SEHA.
This decision has been taken with aim to increase the number of proactive testing done for coronavirus. All the private hospitals and Covid-19 examination centers in Abu Dhabi have confirmed that nasal swab PCR test cost has been decreased by 33% as per the directives of the health authorities. Private hospitals have further relayed that the reduced test fee to 250 Dh is for asymptomatic cases visiting health care facilities, according to the directives of country’s medical authorities. They further noted that the examination will continue to be provided free to beneficiaries as insurance coverage. Also the patients suspected of being infected with the coronavirus who are showing respiratory symptoms, based on the medical evaluation and history of exposure in the last 14 days, and close contact with a confirmed or probable case of infection will be given test with slashed prices.
Private hospitals doctors Muhammad Mandour, Iman Assem, Muhammad Abdul-Mohsen, and Ahmed Kamal said that this step will be very helpful in increasing the precautionary testing done for Covid-19, especially with the resumption of businesses and schools.
