An MoU has been signed between the UAE and Serbia that now allows quarantine free travel corridor for fully vaccinated people between nations. The move is a part of joint UAE-Serbian cooperation agreement further ahead towards recovery from Covid-19 pandemic.
The travel corridor will ease traveling for vaccinated people who have vaccination certificates issued by health authorities in both countries, as of May 15. This would waive off any need for health quarantine upon arrival, while following other precautionary measures to ensure safety of all.
The UAE representative for virtual signing ceremony Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and from Serbian it was Tatjana Matic, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Communications.
The development is reflection of both nations’ determination to ease out the movement of people and achieve vaccination campaign goal that will ensure vaccination of all eligible community members. Under the new rule, citizens and expatriate residents, who want to avail quarantine-free travel corridor, are required to show evidence that they are fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine, as per the approved applications or certificates issued by health authorities. Passengers can also present lab examination or RT-PCR report through these applications.
This partnership and strategic cooperation between the UAE and Serbia is of critical importance as world is still facing spread of coronavirus infection. It also supports the efforts to combat and overcome the pandemic by two nations.
