Ramadan: Strict measures taken ahead of Ramandan, 16 foot outlets shut

The United Arab Emirates has implemented strict measures as the holy month of Ramadan starts and to further ensure ground rules considering the covid-19 pandemic, the authorities have shut down food outlets while carrying out inspections.

In total, 16 food outlets have been shut down by the authorities at Municipal and Planning Department Ajman at Masfoot for their failure to follow the guidelines set by the UAE authorities in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic. The restaurants reportedly failed to comply with the stringent requirements of public health regulations to ensure containment of the virus.

The director of the MPDA masfoot branch, Saif Ghadeer Al Ketbi, also stressed on the strict norms that the authorities have set in view of the holy month of Ramadan. The authorities have been taking various steps to properly conduct Ramadan so that people don’t have a casual approach towards the threat of the virus.

On Wednesday, the authorities issued 979 warnings during the inspection drives, and while the rigorous inspection procedures, they found 129 violations. As per data, since the beginning of the pandemic, the department has carried out 3,845 inspections.

During the inspections, the department found 84 kilograms of food items to be unfit for human consumption. The authorities seized these food items. The director also added that the department continues to strengthen its efforts and hence they are keeping a tab at Masfoot to prevent any health hazards ahead of Ramadan.

Other than these inspections, the UAE officials are effectively handling the virus situation ahead of Ramadan. They have stressed on the importance of making oneself responsible by avoiding social gatherings. Apart from that, officials also focused on the exchange of gifts tradition saying that it is best to be avoided.

As per international standards, Ramadan will start on April 12, 2021. The officials said that even with Ramadan in place it is essential and people abide by the guidelines of the covid-19 pandemic and it is still not over and it is everyone’s responsibility to be cautious about the virus spread.

The vaccination drive is already in place in the UAE and the healthcare officials have made it a point to vaccinate more than half of the eligible population of the country free of charge by keeping the senior citizens as the priority of this vaccination program.
