In a meeting for the Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Ras Al Khaimah attended by Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, and members of the team representing relevant local authorities. Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police and Head of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Ras Al Khaimah explained how vaccinations will help curb the spread of the COVID-19 and hospitalization rates and need for emergency care according to health reports.
Participants in the meeting reviewed the precautionary measures in place in the emirate and emphasized the necessity of monitoring adherence as well as supporting the National Vaccination Campaign's efforts to ensure that it continues to accomplish its goals. They also noted the vaccine’s efficiency in protecting people and reducing the virality of the virus.
Concluding the meeting Major General Al Nuaimi stated that national health officials want to improve the rate of vaccinated individuals to 90% of the targeted categories, noting that the UAE is presently ranked second in the world for the number of individuals vaccinated per 100 people. As a result, increased local efforts are needed to support the national fight to fight COVID-19 spread.
