The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has ensured the availability of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at more than 100 vaccination centres across the emirate in line with the ongoing national inoculation campaign. As per a statement issued by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on Friday, the Pfizer vaccine is available for all unvaccinated citizens and residents aged 12 and above via walk-in at the centres.

Healthcare authorities have underlined that the vaccine will provide protection to children against COVID-19 infection, noting that they are going to make a gradual return to schools in the upcoming academic year.

In this regard, Ambulatory Healthcare Services CEO Mohamed Al Sadid has urged all unvaccinated people across the emirate to receive the vaccine with the aim of boosting the efforts to curb the spread of the virus. Currently, the authorities are administering two types of COVID-19 vaccines (Sinopharm and Pfizer-BioNTech) free of cost to everyone across all health centres in the emirate.

“I chose to vaccinate because as healthcare providers, we believe that the vaccine is the safest and most effective way of combating COVID-19,” Al Sadid said.
