The Ministry of Education on Tuesday announced that the next academic term for public schools in the UAE will start from January 3, 2021 (Sunday) for all teaching staff, administrative staff and students.

The Ministry took to Twitter to share the details about the development. In its announcement, the ministry stated that all students will be following distance learning model for the first two weeks.

In addition, the administrative and technical staffs in schools have been asked to come in shifts with a capacity of 50 percent. Staff members can change their shifts to maintain 50 percent capacity, while adhering to the necessary precautionary and preventive measures.

In light with the efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the country, the Ministry stated that it would issue further updates in accordance with the developments in the pandemic situation.
