Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has encouraged people across the country to take the COVID-19 vaccine shot in order to protect themselves and the community from the disease.
Taking to Twitter, the UAE Vice President state that the healthcare sector of the country has made "great strides in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic". Noting that the UAE is currently ranking at the second spot globally in vaccine administration, he urged everyone to take the vaccine with the aim to protect the health of every individual in the community.
“Taking the vaccine is every individual’s responsibility to protect their health, families and wider society,” Al-Maktoum tweeted.
As per a WAM report, the UAE has vaccinated 108,401 residents against the COVID-19 disease in the past 24 hours. In total, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has administered around 1.27 million vaccine doses since the launch of the national vaccination programme. As part of the inoculation campaign, the UAE government is aiming to vaccinate more than 50 percent of its population within the first quarter of 2021.
Meanwhile, the UAE has ranked at the second-highest position in Coronavirus vaccinations across the world, after Israel.
