The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MoFAIC, launched "We’re here for you" a service for members of the country's diplomatic missions abroad.

The service aims to preserve their health and safety, through the work of a dedicated team to ensure coordination and implement precautionary and preventive measures to slow the spread of coronavirus, COVID-19.

MoFAIC announced the launch of the service during an e-briefing yesterday to update employees on the latest precautionary measures adopted by the UAE, in light of the global coronavirus crisis facing the world.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said, "Ensuring the health and safety of all members of our diplomatic missions abroad and their families, as well as all cadres working in embassies and consulates, is a top priority. The ministry is keen to support and assist them and secure their various needs, whether preventive, health or otherwise."

Sheikh Abdullah thanked the members of the diplomatic corps for serving the country, stating, "Due to all their efforts, the UAE will be able to overcome this challenge."

Khalid Abdullah Humaid Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation explained the new precautionary and preventive measures to ambassadors and heads of representative missions and diplomats abroad, with the aim of safeguarding their health and safety.

Jawaher Hassan Al Suwaidi, Projects Specialist at the ministry, gave an overview of the service, which offers various forms of assistance, such as conducting telemedicine and medical repatriation for diplomats abroad, ensuring food and medical supplies and coordinating their return to the UAE.

Al Suwaidi also pointed out that a special 24-hour hotline was launched to answer inquiries and provide the needful support.
