Mediclinic Middle East has contributed to the fight against Covid-19 pandemic by donating AED285,000 to the Commuity Solidarity Fund of Islam Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD).
This initiative was rolled out in April in an attempt to make an impact through humanitarian aid which will help reduce the ehealth and societal consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The delegation from the Mediclinic Middle East led by Ahmned Ali, Executive Director of Mediclinic Middle East, was received by Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director-General of IACAD today.
AFter receiving the donation, Al Shaibani said, "Mediclinic’s contribution confirms the statement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, 'Everyone is responsible'. Dubai is flexible and adapting very well with challenges and surpass them in an exceptional and distinctive way, based on the recommendations and directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum."
IACAD’s Director General then confirmed that this contribution is a reflection of the community’s strength in fulfilling the motive of the group. Through this the fund aims to help the neediest groups looking for help and orientation. He also added that this donation by the Mediclinic Group proves that that they are aligned with the leadership directives urging people to support and develop humanitarian work.
He added that the group always strives to share a social responsibility in the United Arab Emirates by supporting medical activities and encouraging new initiatives. We are all proud of this great achievement and appreciate all the contributions of our employees to the Social Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19 at Mediclinic," Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of Mediclinic Middle East, said.
As the unlock was announced by the UAE authorities, the cases of coronavirus cases saw a surge but this can also be due to the increased number of testing done by the UAE. UAE is one of the countries with the highest number doing the highest number of tests in a single day. This week on Tuesday, 9.9 million got tested in the country. The total number of coronavirus infections has reached 87,530 with over 400 deaths.
