As an extension of continuous support to fight COVID-19, United Arab Emirates sent an aid plane to Madagascar to reinforce and strengthen its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, UAE sent an air plane with medical aids to Madagascar to help and assist approximately 9000 medical professionals as they try to curb the virus spread in the region.
UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya and Non-Resident Ambassador to Madagascar, Khalid Khalifa AlMualla said that UAE is determined to help the nations in their fight against the pandemic. He elaborated, “The UAE is determined to assist countries in need in strengthening the global fight against COVID-19. With today’s delivery of aid to Madagascar, the UAE affirms its commitment to equipping frontline healthcare workers with the necessary supplies and prioritizing public health across borders during these challenging times.”
The aid sent to Madagascar includes nine metric tons of medical supplies which is believed to be very helpful to healthcare professionals handling the pandemic first hand in the country.
UAE has been very active in sending support across nations. Till date UAE has sent over 692 metric tons of aid across 60 countries in need to help their fight against COVID-19 pandemic. This is believed to have supported over 692,000 medical and healthcare professionals at the frontline of this pandemic fight.
