The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) on Monday released a statement dismissing all rumours about COVID-19 vaccines that are being circulated across various social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. The MoHAP dismissed the rumours as fake and stressed the community members to obtain their information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine from official and reliable sources.
In the statement, the ministry also called on the members of the community to verify all information regarding the vaccines from government sources before circulating them on social media in order to avoid legal liability.
The Ministry notified that those people who will be seen propagating or disseminating fake information will be held legally accountable by the authorities.
The statement has come in line with the UAE government's efforts to vaccinate more than 50 percent of the country's population against Coronavirus within the first quarter of 2021.
