Free PCR test by Abu Dhabi airport on arrival, results in 90 minutes

All passengers arriving at the Abu Dhabi International Airport will be given a free PCR test, the results of which will be obtained in 90 minutes. The testing will be done by a lab located inside the airport. The quick result giving RT-PCR tests is launched along with Pure Health Labs and Tamouh Healthcare.

All the passengers who arrive through terminals 1 and 3 would be tested. Results would be shared by SMS and WhatsApp and will also be available on the Al Hosn mobile application.

Passengers who are from the ‘green’ list of countries specified by the Abu Dhabi government and have received negative results would not be required to self-isolate. Travelers who are not from the green nations would have to self-isolate for 10 days and also require a quarantine wristband fitted at the airport’s testing tent.

All National Vaccination Programme and Phase III clinical trials participants who have an identification mark of letter E or a gold star on the Al Hosn app are also exempted from self-quarantine procedures. All passengers that are transiting through the airport would not be tested.

Over 190 medics would be present at the airport with the testing lab having the capacity to test over 20,000 travelers and staff per day.

The green list of countries was originally published in December and is updated regularly. The most recent changes took place on Monday.

In Abu Dhabi’s travel list 13 destinations are there. The inclusion depends on the latest development in the country’s Covid-19 protocols. These countries are Australia, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Greenland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Morocco, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

All Abu Dhabi international travelers must have a negative PCR test result and take another test on entering the capital.

Not all countries on the green list are open for tourism.
