Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE is launching the first Virtual Charter School for supporting students who have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative is a result of a collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) and Horizon Private School. The goal of this school is to ensure and provide uninterrupted access to education for students in the emirate whose families have been impacted by the pandemic.
The virtual education platform would offer a curriculum of the Ministry of Education. Approximately 579 students of 15 nationalities have enrolled for the course, said Abu Dhabi Media Office’s notice.
The online platform has been called a “pioneering extension” of the Charter Schools initiative. The initiative offers a third education model which is based on public-private partnerships.
