In continuation with its relief and humanitarian work in Yemen to support the families through the ongoing crisis, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) recently dispatched a relief aid convoy carrying 21.4 tonnes of essential supplies to the Hadhramaut Governorate. The relief aid will benefit 2,500 people from the poor and needy families in the Tarim district of the Hadhramaut Governorate and will help them return to normalcy.
ERC has been carrying out food distribution project across Yemen with the aim to ease the suffering of the people and to provide them stability and security through these difficult times. The recent aid supply is part of the bigger initiative of the ERC to assist Yemeni people in easing their suffering.
Responding to the aid delivery, Khalid AwadHuwaidi, Director-General of Tarim District, expressed gratitude towards the UAE and local Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) team for their crucial efforts to support the Yemeni people. He further hailed the fast response of the ERC to the humanitarian needs of the affected families in Talim district by sending relief aid that will help in improving their living conditions. Local beneficiaries also expressed happiness after receiving the aid supplies and thanked the UAE and ERC for their contributions.
As per a WAM report, the ERC has distributed a total of 32,410 food parcels weighing 2,504.728 tonnes in Hadhramaut since the beginning of the year 2020. The aid supply has benefitted around 163,050 people in the Governorate.
