Emirates has announced of resuming flights to Cape Town from 1 October, Johannesburg from 1 October, and Durban from 4 October in South Africa; Harare in Zimbabwe from 1 October; and Mauritius from 3 October. The flights to additional five destinations will thereby increase Emirates’ global network to connecting to 92 destinations. The Emirates airline is gradually resuming the operations while giving safety of its customers a priority, crew and the communities around the world. Emirates’ network in Africa will also now extend to cover 19 cities. Customers travelling through three South African cities through Emirates can now connect to Dubai and various onward connections in Europe, the Far East, Middle East, West Asia and Australasia. Flight schedules for South African destinations will be available later in the week on emirates.com.
Emirates’ two weekly flights will be operational which shall be linked to its Lusaka service. The linked services will connect Zambia and Zimbabwe to key cities across Europe, the Far East, the Americas, Australasia and West Asia and will have one convenient stop in Dubai.
Flights from Dubai to Mauritius will be operating once a week initially on Saturdays. These would be supporting the repatriation efforts of the Mauritian government, and will also enable the recovery of country’s tourism. The flights will connect travelers from Europe, the Far East and the Middle East to Mauritius, the popular island destination in Indian Ocean.
