The Emirates Health Services (EHS) held its fifth annual meeting to discuss potential ways to integrate healthcare plans with the aim of improving services.
This year's meeting was chaired by Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and Head of EHS Board of Directors, at the headquarters of the establishment in Dubai in the presence of Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, EHS Director-General and other board members.
During the meeting, participants also discussed essential prospects of partnering local and international entities to enhance the growth of public health and achieve planned goals in the specified timeframe. The EHS further reviewed the latest developments related to the planning of strategic, financial and human resources as well as ways to integrate operational indicators with efficiency and performance quality.
As the meeting started, the board members congratulated UAE leaders on the occasion of Flag Day as they hailed the exceptional milestones achieved by the country. The members thanked the wise leadership for its unrelenting support to the health sector. In addition, they discussed various topics ranging from action plans for the upcoming period to key recommendations submitted by relevant committees for the growth of various sectors.
Members also reviewed the achievements of the organisation in recent months and the extent of preparedness of EHS facilities to provide innovative health services with the aim of improving the quality of life and health of the community.
During the meeting, the members underlined their commitment towards supporting the EHS and strengthening its performance efficiency in accordance with the highest international standards.
"The EHS will always be there to meet the growing needs and aspirations of patients and advance the UAE’s healthcare sector towards a brighter future," members stressed.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Al Olama said that EHS will put necessary efforts such as developing healthcare services and launching innovative initiatives to enhance the advancement and competitiveness of the UAE’s health sector in line with the country’s vision towards the next 50 years.
Al Olama also urged all members to boost their efforts to help the EHS in achieving its desired goal.
Furthermore, Al Serkal said that the meeting reviewed the progress made by the entity in implementing its strategies and digital transformation plans, along with improving customers' journey, and advancing mechanisms to strengthen the governance within the EHS.
Al Serkal is working on partnership agreements to improve the capabilities of its medical cadres across all specialities. It will help in effectively delivering the best healthcare services to all patients in the country.
"We are striving to re-innovate the treatment journey at our facilities and are investing in advanced digital techniques to bring about a radical change in the way healthcare services are provided," he added.
In conclusion, he expressed the EHS' commitment towards fully utilising its latest artificial intelligence techniques to meet the requirements of every patient as well as develop state-of-the-art digital infrastructure in line with the best international practices.
"We are seeking nothing but excellence and leadership," Al Serkal noted.
