Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) recently launched a vaccination campaign for employees of 20 hotels on The Palm Jumeirah. The campaign has been launched in coordination with the Ministry of Health & Prevention and relevant hospitality stakeholders as part of the ongoing citywide efforts to contain the spread of the virus. Amid the fight against the pandemic, authorities are working continuously to further strengthen Dubai’s position as one of the safest destinations across the world.
After the reopening of the city to domestic tourists in May 2020 and to international tourists in July 2020, hotels across Dubai have been strictly following the necessary health and safety guidelines along with providing a state-of-the-art hospitality experience to all guests.
The Palm Jumeirah contains a wide range of globally-renowned, luxury resort brands. Last month, more than 10,000 employees from these pioneering hotels received the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at their respective places of work in line with the vaccination efforts across the emirate.
The campaign to vaccinate hotel employees at The Palm Jumeirah is the first initiative launched by Dubai Tourism in the hospitality sector. The program was initiated to ensure the highest level of safety preparedness in Dubai and the leadership’s commitment and priority to protect the health and welfare of all residents and visitors.
As of now, the UAE is positioned among the top 5 countries in the world in terms of overall vaccine rollout. In addition, the UAE has a significantly effective test and trace program aimed at containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Dubai has emerged as one of the safest cities in the world to visit. As part of its recovery efforts, Dubai authorities have implemented a wide range of precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of tourists at every stage of their journey, from arrival to departure.
Dubai authorities’ effective citywide management of the COVID-19 pandemic has gained massive praise from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Dubai also recently received a ‘Safe Travels’ stamp from the WTTC.
Earlier, Dubai launched the specially designed ‘DUBAI ASSURED’ stamp to recognize and certify hotels and retail establishments, F&B outlets, and other attractions that are strictly adhering to all health and safety protocols. These measures are put in place by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
The ‘DUBAI ASSURED’ stamp is issued to hotels and other establishments free of charge and is valid for 15 days. It can be renewed every two weeks in accordance with the inspections and verifications carried out by designated inspectors from relevant government authorities. This stamp serves as a visual assurance for guests that the establishment is working in compliance with all safety and hygiene measures across all tiers and categories of touchpoints for tourists and residents.
