The UAE health authorities continue to intensify the national vaccination programme to inoculate maximum number of eligible categories of residents in the country. In line with these efforts, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has issued a reminder about special categories of members who can request for vaccination at home.
Eligible categories:
According to the guidelines issued by the DHA, the COVID-19 home vaccination service focuses on these target groups:
· Emiratis (50 years and older)
· Elderly Dubai residents (60 years and older) who are unable to visit the vaccination centre
· People of Determination
Required documents:
People are required to present a proof of residence in Dubai, irrespective of the Emirate the UAE residence visa was issued from.
Approved vaccines:
The DHA is currently providing only Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as part of its home vaccination service.
Procedure for booking an appointment:
· In order to book an appointment, people must call 800342 and listen to the options carefully.
· From the given option, they are required to select the COVID-19 vaccine option
· Then select 60 years and above category
· Lastly, confirm their booking
The home vaccination initiative is being carried out by a specialised service delivery team consisting of representative members from the Dubai Health Authority, Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to enhance the reach of the immunisation programme. The national vaccination drive is aimed combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the UAE.
