In continuation with the efforts to reopen economic activities in the post-pandemic recovery process across the UAE, the Ajman Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Team has allowed the resumption of wedding functions and other celebrations in hotels, party halls and houses in the emirate. The new changes will come into effect from November 1, 2020.
However, the authorities have stressed the need for complying with all necessary precautionary and preventive measures while organising these events in a bid to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests and participating members against COVID-19.
Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police and Chairman of the Team, also added that the number of guests should not exceed 200 individuals in hotels and other event venues and 50 in wedding functions celebrated at home. At the same time, only five people are allowed to sit at the same table, adding that all participants must wear face masks, follow social distancing and adhere to other relevant precautionary measures issued by the UAE government to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
The authorities have taken this decision to ease restrictions on community members such that they are able to organise wedding celebrations and other events in a bid to share their happiness with their family, friends and other loved ones. Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi added that the team is working in cooperation with its partner authorities to ensure the protection of the health and safety of the community members amid prevailing pandemic conditions.
