All COVID-19 vaccines available in the UAE are among the best in the world to tackle the contagion, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, official Spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector, said. Dr. Hosani further noted that the UAE is working towards expanding the scope of recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine in the country with the aim of reaching acquired immunity.
The remarks were made by Dr. Al Hosani, Director of the Department of Communicable Diseases, during a virtual session on the COVID-19 pandemic, organised by the Ministry of Justice in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC). The session was moderated by Chancellor Saud Buhindi, Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Justice Youth Council.
During the session, the spokesperson stressed the significance of raising awareness among the public about following COVID-19 protocols. In this regard, she noted that the pandemic crisis has had a huge impact on citizens and residents in the country as it changed their habits, lifestyles, and ways of connecting with one another.
"It also made families and the community adopt new healthy lifestyles and encouraged children and the youth to take responsibilities and be independent, and changed several negative lifestyles," she added.
Dr. Al Hosani underlined a number of key pillars, particularly wearing face masks, to curb the spread of the virus. She called for using licensed medical face masks to protect the health and safety of every member of the community as well as refraining from taking children and elderly people to crowded areas, such as playgrounds.
The government has encouraged children above the age of three to wear face masks and those under three to wear face shields. Dr. Al Hosani stressed the importance of taking the COVID-19 vaccine in order to prevent the spread of the virus and protect all community members, most notably children, and elderly people.
At the beginning of the session, Judge Dr. Saeed Ali Bahbouh Al Naqbi, Acting Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, lauded the UAE's proactive response against COVID-19. He said that the UAE has emerged as a successful model in tackling the pandemic in line with the vision and unlimited support provided by the leadership. He further extended the Ministry of Justice and its employees' appreciation to Dr. Al Hosani for her crucial efforts in the UAE's battle against the crisis.
Dr. Al Naqbi also highlighted the gravity of cooperation between all public and private entities as well as individuals and national health authorities in implementing the precautionary measures issued by the government to curb the spread of the virus. Underlining the importance of following the government’s directives and recommendations related to COVID-19, he expressed the Ministry of Justice's keenness in implementing the health authorities' instructions to ensure the safety of all employees and customers in the process.
In addition, he highlighted the ministry's keenness to enhance the implementation of relevant laws and legislation while keeping pace with ongoing developments in the fight against COVID-19. It will help in complying with necessary COVID-19 precautionary measures as well as continuity of operations of courts.
Dr. Al Naqbi then urged all concerned entities to continue organising similar guidance seminars and sessions to help to strengthen the skills and capacities of all employees in the COVID-19 fight and keeping pace with key developments.
In conclusion, he thanked the national justice sector and underlined its crucial role in maintaining order in the country. As a key partner, the national justice sector had helped in the success of UAE’s efforts against the COVID-19 health crisis.
