The aid plane carried 21 metric tons of essential medical supplies and COVID-19 testing kits in a bid to assist approximately 21,000 medical professionals in Kazakhstan as they work at the forefront to contain the spread of the virus.
Responding to the aid delivery, Ammar Omar Al Breiki, Acting Charge D'affaires at the UAE Embassy in Kazakhstan, highlighted that Kazakhstan is one of the first countries to receive medical assistance from the UAE amid the global fight against COVID-19.
He noted that the UAE has sent four aid planes over the past six months carrying a total of 54.5 metric tons of medical supplies to help the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan in the battle against the pandemic. Al Breiki added that the fifth medical aid shipment affirms the UAE leadership's keenness and willingness to foster esteemed relations between the two friendly nations by supporting the efforts of the frontline healthcare workers in Kazakhstan and boosting their capacities to combat the repercussions of the pandemic.
