Dubai Police has announced their security plan for the Eid Al Fitr holidays that begin on Tuesday, May 11 citing ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Brigadier-General Saif Muhair Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department, said police patrols have been deployed additionally to monitor any Covid-19 protocols violations.
Gatherings of over five people are banned in Dubai. The host of these gatherings will be fined Dh50,000, and each guest would be fined Dh15,000.
Police would fine people if more than three non-family members are found to be travelling in the same car. Major-General Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Authority for Security of Bodies, Installations and Emergencies, said officers would patrol malls, beaches, mosques and roads.
Across the emirate more than 3,000 policemen would be deployed in each shift. Approximately 500 police patrols and 32 bicycle patrols would monitor the entire Dubai. About 700 volunteers will be working along with the Dubai Police to help spot violators of safety protocols related to Covid-19.
Emergency preparation
To handle any emergency, over 111 ambulances and 72 fire trucks are on standby, according to the integrated security plan. About 24 police patrols and 18 two-wheel patrols will handle security at Dubai’s nine beaches.
Additionally, 21 maritime patrols will ensure security, with 42 rescue officials placed on standby.
The police has urged residents to cooperate with security officials and adhere to all Covid protocols in order to avoid fines.
