Preventive and precautionary measures continue to be implemented by the UAE transport fares to ensure health and safety of the people of the Emirates. This is in line with the directives issued by the authorities to help curb the spread of Covid-19 infection.
Ali Youssef, Director of the Emirates Transport Taxi Company, relayed commitment of the company of precautionary measures application on board of 803 taxi vehicles in the company, to ensure health of drivers as well as users and to ensure efficient and safe services during pandemic along the instructions by relevant authorities. He further said that to ensure safety, the measures are followed and implemented all throughout the period of service, and also before and after the passengers board the vehicle. He also said that drivers’ temperatures are checked on a daily basis before they start the service for that day, along with medical examinations on a periodic basis. The vehicle drivers are mandatorily required to wear masks and gloves during the service period. Before the passenger boards the taxi, it is ensured that he is committed to follow the precautionary measures, otherwise boarding is not allowed. Also the maximum number of allowed visitors is two, which have to be seated in the passenger seat, during a single visit, to ensure required physical distancing.
Emirates Transport Taxi drivers are committed to following complete disinfection of the vehicle after end of every trip, to prepare for the next trip. He further noted that the company provides hand sanitizers in all its vehicles for passengers to help reduce the spread of coronavirus. Sterilization is carried out of the vehicle at the end of day.
