The Ministry of Education and the Umm Al Quwain emergency, crisis and disaster management team on Sunday announced that schools across the emirate will fully switch to virtual classes until further notice.
With this development, Umm Al Quwain has become the third emirate in the UAE to announce 100 percent online learning classes in line with the precautionary measure aimed at reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Earlier on February 9, Ajman had switched to online learning, followed by Sharjah on February 11.
Meanwhile, a number of schools in Abu Dhabi welcomed the students back on campus after a month of virtual classes.
Precautionary measures are being implemented by Emirati authorities in order to ensure the health and safety of the students, teachers and other members of the school community.
