The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai on Tuesday announced the cancellation of all permits for Ramadan tents in the emirate this year given the ongoing efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
IACAD said that the decision was taken to prevent large gatherings and non-compliance with precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of all public.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, mosques host social gatherings for workers and offer free meals during Iftar. However, the new protocols have been implemented to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus and safeguard the public from getting infected.

In this regard, he noted that IACAD has prioritized the health and safety of all members of the community, urging them to take all necessary precautions during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Muhammad Musabeh Dahi, director of the charitable institution's department at IACAD, affirmed that the authority will continue to reach out and support the needy through its digital Meals of Hope initiative during the month of Ramadan.
